BNP PARIBAS REIM STARTS THE DISTRIBUTION IN ITALY OF ITS SRI-CERTIFIED OPCI BNP PARIBAS DIVERSIPIERRE
As part of its international development, BNP Paribas REIM announces the launch of the distribution of BNP Paribas Diversipierre in Italy.
BNP Paribas Diversipierre is a French “OPCI Grand Public” that was launched in 2014 and managed by BNP Paribas REIM France. It offers an investment solution 100% linked to the real estate sector with a high liquidity, reserved to professional clients who have the possibility to make investments or divestments every two weeks. The fund’s portfolio is composed of invested properties (65%), shares of listed REIT’s* (14.5%) and covered bonds (14.5%), the remainder being cash and equivalents. As of end of March 2022, BNP Paribas Diversipierre has a total of €2.6bn asset under management.
The fund aims to own a highly diversified real estate portfolio across the Eurozone countries and among all sectors – office, retail, residential, logistics, hotel, healthcare, school. This diversification in locations and types of underlying assets makes BNP Paribas Diversipierre a low risk profile investment (level of 2/7 in SRI PRIIPs).
The fund made its first investment in Italy in 2017 and since then Italy has represented on the average 11% of the portfolio valuation with direct and indirect investments and with many new opportunities in the pipeline.
One of these investments is the Bodio Center. It is a LEED Gold and BREAAM Good certified business park located in Milan, composed of 5 office buildings and 2 buildings for service activities, for a surface area of over 80,000 sqm.
BNP Paribas Diversipierre has opted for a responsible approach regarding its investment and management decisions, taking into account extra-financial components. The fund follows a “best-in-progress” SRI strategy regarding its real estate portfolio, which consists in improving the ESG performance of the acquired assets, particularly from an environmental point of view, by setting up dedicated action plans for each building. Thus, the fund was one of the first French funds to be awarded the SRI (Socially Responsible Investment) Certification in December 2020 and it is classified Article 8 under the SFDR regulation (Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation).
